San Francisco, CA (November 13, 2001) -- Deputy City Attorney Sean F. Connolly announced today that he will run for election to the San Francisco Superior Court in March, 2002. Connolly is running for the seat being vacated by retiring judge Douglas Munson.

Connolly said his campaign will emphasize "honesty, integrity and a strong work ethic." "I feel I have the training, professional experience, and judicial temperament that the citizens of San Francisco expect from a superior court judge," he said. "I have spent my legal career serving the City of San Francisco and its citizens. As a superior court judge, I can continue to serve the public by bringing my energy, talents and integrity to this important public office."

Connolly graduated Cum Laude from Boston University and received his law degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1990. From 1991 to 1997, he represented indigent citizens as a criminal trial attorney in the San Francisco Public Defender's office. From 1997 to 1999, Connolly served as General Counsel for the San Francisco Police Officers' Association, the union that represents the City's police officers. Since 1999, Connolly has represented the interests of the City of San Francisco as a Deputy City Attorney, where he has been an active civil trial attorney.

"With his experience as a criminal trial lawyer and a civil litigator, Sean will bring a well-rounded legal background to the bench. Add to this his innate sense of fairness and real-world practicality, and you have a man who is perfectly suited to serve the citizens of San Francisco as a superior court judge," added Livingston.

Connolly lives in the West Portal neighborhood of San Francisco with his wife, Hannah Klein Connolly, and their young daughter and newborn son.
